Our company
The Fintech Consultancy Group, or Fincog, specialises in fintech consulting. The company provides bespoke solutions in strategy consulting, market research, and commercial due diligence for a broad swathe of stakeholders in the financial services industry such as banks, payment service providers, wealth and asset managers, as well as investors, governments and larger fintech start-ups.
We help our clients to understand what is happening in the fintech market and obtain the right insights, develop sustainable fintech strategies and support the implementation of new solutions. For example, last year we supported our clients to create the strategic vision and launch of a new challenger bank, supported an online lender with the international growth strategy, performed commercial-due diligence on various fintech investments and provided bespoke research on the fintech market, amongst others.
Fincog boasts an expanding, multidisciplinary and experienced team of consultants. Our consultants have worked in other consulting firms such as Deloitte and The Boston Consulting Group, and in corporate strategy functions at banks. And throughout their career our consultants have gained in-depth knowledge across financial services, IT and innovation.
About the role
To provide a learning experience to students and recent graduates, and to support the growth of our company, Fincog is looking for an intern. As an intern you will work under the supervision of a junior consultant and an engagement manager to support our client work. Your role will be to perform research, gather insights through in-depth analyses, and prepare client reports that summarize your findings in a structured and concise manner.
In addition, you will contribute to the growth of the company. You will have an important role in building the knowledge base around fintech, write research reports and blog articles. You will support the preparation of company events such as presentations, round-tables and other knowledge sharing activities. You will also have the opportunity to further explore the world of fintech by attending conferences and other networking events.
As we are a small company, you will have much freedom to shape the internship to your interests and can be involved in a variety of Fincog activities. For example, you can choose to focus on building the knowledge base with research on specific topic (i.e. challenger banks, open banking etc.), take an active role in connecting with other players in the fintech landscape, or be involved in further developing the company processes (i.e. help building starting project approaches etc.), depending on your interests, needs and experience.
To ensure we can provide a sufficient learning experience, our internships are generally full-time for a period of 3 to 6 months.
What we are searching for
Do you want to learn everything about Fintech? Do you have strong analytical skills and love solving strategic questions? And do you have the ambition to build a career in consulting?
As we are a strategy consulting firm specialised in fintech, we are mainly looking for two qualities. First of all, we are looking for a strong passion for financial services and fintech. For example, you are excited about new technology, have a bank account with a challenger bank and follow the latest fintech news. It is an advantage if you have some experience in financial services and fintech, but this is not a requirement.
Second of all, we are looking for strong analytical skills and an eye for detail. For example, you give much attention to the quality of work, have strong ownership of your work and are driven to help our clients achieve the best possible results. Specifically we are looking students in their 3rd or 4th year of university, and recent graduates with university degree and high grades.
